One Step @ A Time!!
Note to Self: Don't eat yellow snow :-(
Well, I have actually been doing alot of things to prepare for my trip in August.
February 19th- I had a meeting with my advisor S. Danziger, and we talked about Independent Study classes, Photovoice and other contacts within U of M to touch basis with. I also attended a Globalization for Beginners Workshop, which was very informational. I definitely gained an understanding of globalization from a macro perspective.
February 20th- I attended the film series: Africa: Globalization, Policy and Resource Use...I watched a documentary on Lagos.
So, as I type, I am also thinking about responses for a scholarship that is due on March 3rd through CAAS : SAIO. I have been a little discouraged about the funding options but it doesn't matter, I'm going to Capetown by any means necessary! I can say, that I am really excited and the journey has actually already begun! I am in the process of scheduling additional meetings with professors and students that have worked in South Africa and also continuing to gain knowledge. Wish me luck...
