Good News through Email...& Mail!

Email News:
As you know I have been a hunt for books and articles surrounding the topic of womens issues post apartheid and how their percpetion of their political, social, cultural and all aspects of life have been effected. My adviser forwarded great information from a doctoral student that she knows based on these ramifications! He provided information of books, articles, films and websites of womens issues, history and a host of other pertinent information regarding these issues. I was elated when I read through the material.....I think I am on the right track because apart of this independent study is of course, formulating a syllabus and I definitely have a voice in how I want this syllabus to be structured...the information that the doctoral student provided was on the right track....I was extremely discouraged and frustrated because I did not know what direction to go with this syllabus and what direction to go with my book search....Ready...Set...Go...

Mail News...
I got my official letter from CAAS today...just saying the requirements and stipulations of the fellowship...YAAY...

SAIO Moody Fellowship & SSW....

Well...well...well...
I got the assistance from the School of Social Work and I got the fellowship!! YAAY!! I can't believe it! I was starting to get a little worried because time is definitely running out and I didn't know how I was going to buy my plane ticket, pay the remainder of my program fees and possibly buy this new laptop. The money is still looking a little funny but at this point I have $5700.oo YAAY...
I havebeen thinking about this documentary and the questions that I need to ask...I am lost at this point! I feel like there is so much to be done and so little time still...
Things I still need to do:
-Immunizations
-Buy plane ticket
-Buy luggage
-Finish paying program costs
-Workshop for FinalCutPro
-Develop questions
-Propose definite placement to CCS
-Once tickets are bought, register itinerary
Blah...blah...blah...I am also anxious now...what if I can't pull this off...what does that mean? What if I can't pull this off meaning, what if this documentary doesn't work out?
What if my pictures come out terrible?
What if the sound sucks?
I have a lot riding on this....

Keep it movin'....

Well, I am a Ginsberg Student Fellow and the School of Social Work granted my re-review for assistance with the trip!!! YAAY!! I am going to apply for the SAMI Funding next week and see what happens...
I am still awaiting a decision from the Moody Fellowship through CAAS. I am hoping that I get that funding as well because they will pay for my plane ticket along with some additional trip costs. I am getting a little worried because I don't know where the additional funds will come from at this point. Time is winding down...
